The
Councilor Online reports on
Library Council continuing education and social activities, events of interest
at member libraries, library news on local and statewide levels, and local job
opportunities. The quarterly
newsletter is emailed to members in September, December, March and June.
Deadlines for submissions are August 31, November 30, February 28 and May
31.

LIBRARY
COUNCIL 2005-2008 STRATEGIC PLAN. This
plan was adopted by the Executive Board of the Library Council on May 26, 2005,
for implementation beginning July, 2005.
LIBRARY COUNCIL BYLAWS. Bylaws were revised and approved by the Library Council Executive Board in March, 2002.
LIBRARY DIRECTORY OF METROPOLITAN MILWAUKEE 2005 edition.
Entries include Library Council member
institutions and other participating library and information centers in the
metropolitan Milwaukee area. Each entry includes address, phone and fax numbers,
director, ILL and INFOPASS contact persons, and a description of holdings.
Directory is updated biennally; the next edition will be released in summer,
2007.

The Library Council Coordinated
Collections Development Committee maintains a database of the electronic
resources provided by the Milwaukee Public Library and the libraries of
Marquette University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee Libraries, and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
(Contact each library for information about accessing particular
journals.) The listing, which is
updated regularly, is available from the Marquette University Libraries website
at www.marquette.edu/library/libcouncil/.
GUIDE TO GENEALOGICAL COLLECTIONS IN THE MILWAUKEE METROPOLITAN AREA, 1995. Edited by Mark A. Vargas.
Offers more than 500 bibliographic
entries to holdings of 14 area institutions. Lists birth, cemetery,
marriage, census, sacramental, school, and personnel/student records.
Provides holdings information on tax assessment, incorporation, probate,
mortgage and other property records. Shows locations of Civil and criminal
court files, and includes coroner, death, fire and police, jail, probation,
and many other types of records. Publication is currently out of print.;
however, it can be accessed via the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Library web site.
DIRECTORY OF ARCHIVES IN MILWAUKEE, OZAUKEE, SHEBOYGAN, WASHINGTON, WAUKESHA, RACINE AND KENOSHA COUNTIES With Index of Obsolete Audio Visual Presentation Equipment. 1999
Directory provides information on nearly 60 archives in the greater Milwaukee area. Archives are broken down by type (religious, historical society, business, etc.) Provides complete addresses, hours, contact persons, parking information, fees, and a lengthy description of each archive's holdings. Publication is currently out of print.
LIBRARY CATALOGS OF THE METRO-MILWAUKEE AREA: A GUIDE TO ON-LINE COMPUTER ACCESS. 1998.
Easy to use instructions for dialing into automated library catalogs in the Milwaukee area. Includes information about the automated library systems used in the area, a bibliography about all parts of the telecommunications process, and a glossary of telecommunications terms. Great tool to provide clients of your library. Publication is currently out of print.
CD-ROM DIRECTORY OF LCOMM LIBRARIES. 1996.
Provides in table form a list of CD-ROM resources. 75 public, academic, school/media and special libraries included. Indexed by name of CD-ROM. Provides information on each library's policies for using CD-ROMs, dates of coverage, and downloading/printing ability. Publication is currently out of print.
UNION LIST OF CURRENTLY RECEIVED NEWSPAPERS, 1995.
Sixty Milwaukee area libraries contributed their holdings data to this publication. Sections include alphabetical and geographical listings of newspapers, and index of foreign language newspapers. Format allows quick access to list of libraries that subscribe to each paper and holdings information. Publication is currently out of print.
