Read to Rover

The North Shore Library will be offering the Read to Rover Program from the Wisconsin Human Society.  For four Mondays in February and March children will have the chance to read aloud to a certified companion dog. 

 Why is this a great program?  Children who may be hesitant to read aloud will have an opportunity to read  to a supportive, non-judgmental listener – a certified companion dog.  The dog never judges the child’s ability, and programs like this have helped many children reduce their apprehension of reading.

Each child will have  a twenty-five minute session with the dog, and receive a completion certificate and stuffed dog at the final session.

CHILDREN MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL FOUR WEEKS IN ORDER TO REGISTER!

Sessions are at 6:00-6:25 pm; 6:30-6:55pm; 7:05-7:30 pm; 7:35-8:00pm

Dates of sessions are Mondays, February 25, March 3, March 10, and March 17

Please stop in the library to fill out an application.  Sessions are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
