MCFLS, Milwaukee County

Coronavirus Information

Update 03/16: Requesting through the online catalog has been suspended to ease delivery volume. Due dates for all materials county-wide have been extended to May 1st, 2020.

The Milwaukee County Federated Library System and public libraries throughout Milwaukee County have been communicating on measures to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Libraries across the county have been proactively following the CDC instructions and working with local health departments to safeguard their staff and communities.

Each public library will work with their municipality and local health department to determine whether to close as a result of this outbreak. Some public libraries within Milwaukee County have announced they will be closed to the public as of March 14th. Details about current closings can be found here. We will continue to update this site as more information becomes available. Many other libraries are altering or cancelling programs offered at their location. For more information please contact your local library.

The health, safety and well-being of library patrons, staff and communities is our top priority. We encourage concerned patrons, especially those in high-risk populations, to stay home if they are feeling ill or concerned about potential exposure.

Both MCFLS and member libraries offer electronic resources you can use from home, including ebooks, eaudiobooks and magazines:

We will continue to monitor this situation and provide further information as soon as possible. Thank you.
