We Are Looking for Volunteer Drivers!
VOLUNTEER FOR DELIVERY DRIVING

Are you over 18, have a car, and interested in volunteering at the library? Consider applying to deliver library materials to homebound patrons! You will coordinate with a librarian to pick up the materials and deliver them to local patrons. You will get to build relationships with community members and provide a valuable service to the community.



Assisted Living Delivery
APPLY FOR ASSISTED LIVING DELIVERY

Get books and other items delivered to your assisted living facility in Glendale, Fox Point, Bayside, or River Hills. Your facility may be eligible for Assisted Living Delivery with the coordination and cooperation of a staff member of the facility. Library staff will set up a library account for the facility, check out materials, and facilitate monthly or bi-monthly delivery. Printing The staff member of the assisted living facility will act as the point person for responsible for planning deliveries with library staff, facilitating item distribution and collection among residents, and communicating with library staff and residents to answer questions and request materials.

Homebound residents living in apartments or homes are not eligible for Assisted Living Delivery but may be eligible for Homebound Delivery. See Homebound Delivery section for more information. Only North Shore Library books, DVDs, CDs, and magazines are eligible for delivery. New items and Lucky Day items are not eligible. Facility staff can request specific titles as well as preferred genres for its residents. Library staff cannot guarantee delivery of all requested titles, but will do their best to select similar titles if requested titles are unavailable.

All items will be checked out to the assisted living facility's library account. The facility will be responsible for paying any fines or fees that may accumulate due to late, damaged, or missing items. The point person of the assisted living facility is responsible for distributing items to residents and collecting items for return. Library staff are not responsible for keeping track of items once they have been delivered to the facility.

Curbside Pickup
REQUEST LIBRARY MATERIALS IN LIBRARY CATALOG

The library offers curbside pickup during open hours. Requests are taken up to 15 minutes before closing time. Items must be placed on hold and ready for pickup on the hold shelf to qualify for curbside pickup. The following collections are also eligible for curbside pickup on a first-come, first-serve basis, no holds required: Lucky Day Books and DVDs, Share Shed items, Magazines, and Newspapers.

When you arrive, park in a curbside pickup spot, call the library, and wait for a staff member to check out your items and deliver them to your vehicle.



Homebound Delivery
APPLY FOR HOMEBOUND DELIVERY

The library offers Homebound Delivery service to homebound patrons living in Glendale, Fox Point, Bayside, or River Hills. Residence must be home or apartment only. No assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Patrons must have a library card in good standing. Homebound Delivery service is available for patrons who are unable to visit the library for an extended period of time. Only materials owned by the North Shore Library are eligible for Homebound Delivery. New items and Lucky Day items are not eligible.

Homebound residents living in assisted living facilities (such as nursing homes, memory care centers, etc.) are not eligible for Homebound Delivery, but may be eligible for Assisted Living Delivery. See Assisted Living Delivery section for more information.

Print Pickup
REQUEST PRINT PICKUP

The library offers Print Pickup for patrons wishing to submit print or copy requests ahead of time and pick them up later at the library. Learn more on our PRINTING page.
