Spooky Short Story Contest

Grades 6-12th
Sept 15-Oct 17
Theme: Out of this World
Love scary stories? Why not try to write one! Submit a Spooky Short Story for our second annual contest! Stories can contain mystery, suspense or supernatural elements.

Short Stories must be original and should be between 1,000-5,000 words. Stories that contain inappropriate subject matter is determined by the judges and will not be considered.

Participants must be in grades 6-12. Winners will be awarded in two categories, grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. Winners will receive a $30 Amazon Gift Card and will be announced at the end of October. Judges will be a mixture of library staff and local authors.

Drop your short story off at the children’s desk or email it to  Northshore.librarychildrens@mcfls.org to enter!

Teen DIY Spa Day Kit
Sept 21-Sept 25 during library open hours
Make time for a little self-care with our Teen DIY Spa Day Kit! This kit will have a few different items that you can make at home to help your stress melt away. Kits will be available to pick-up at the library during the dates above and will have all the instructions and materials you need to have your own spa day. Kits available while supplies last.
