CountyCat Mobile app
For best performance with the app, please make sure your device is on updated to use the latest os software.
The most current version of the CountyCat Mobile app is version 1.0.6. That update resolved the issue where DUE DATES were missing under the My Checkouts area.
E-Magazines are now within OverDrive / Libby. OverDrive acquired the RBdigital magazine service recently. The collection of titles remains the same, with over 3200 titles. The browsing and checkout of e-magazines remains easy to do.
OverDrive will sunset the OverDrive app in 2022. The company will remove the app from the Apple app store, Google Play and the Microsoft store in February 2022. Current users of the OverDrive app will be able to continue using that app but new users will be directed to the Libby app. The company will then work throughout 2022 to guide and migrate OverDrive app users to the Libby app.
The OverDrive collection recently expanded with the addition of e-magazines in 2021 (see above). In addition, new funding has led to the acquisition of even more OverDrive content.
The Milwaukee County Board has given MCFLS libraries $50,000 to put towards the purchase of high demand e-book and e-audiobook titles in 2021. The Milwaukee Public Library has generously just dedicated over $500,000 to the OverDrive collection over the past year. All Milwaukee County public library users benefit.
MCFLS continues to participate in our state-wide consortium, the Wisconsin Public Library Consortium or WPLC for digital materials, but the purchase of these additional titles means Milwaukee County library users have improved access to priority checkouts. The hold lists for hot e-titles are truly getting shorter!
Audiobooks on OverDrive may checkout for 21 days. Previously, this format was only available to checkout 7 or 14 days on Wisconsin's Digital Library. Now patrons may check them out for 7, 14 or 21 days!
