CountyCat Mobile app has an update
In December 2021, there were many reports of the CountyCat Mobile app not loading, or users encountering a white screen. This spurred on a series of updates by the company. There is now another update for iOS and Android available as of December 28, 2021. This is update 1.0.16 (release 142).
The public is asked to update to this version. Library staff report seeing fixes for these issues with the last update.
Patrons should not need to uninstall/reinstall the app but should try and stay logged in at all times. You can tell which version you are using by going to the Shortcut menu using the icon at the top, upper right of the screen. Then look at the lighter, gray font at the bottom of that area which lists the app version. It’s also best to keep your smart device’s operating system up to date. This will help you take advantage of the features of all apps not just CountyCat Mobile.

Internet access restored for suburban libraries
All public libraries in Milwaukee County again have Internet and library system software in house.
Staff at the suburban libraries are working hard to get caught up with checkouts and checkins. Materials will be backdated as necessary. Please reach out the MCFLS Help Desk if you need assistance. The phone is 414-286-3520.
Thank you again for your patience with this outage.Internet access is down at most suburban libraries
MCFLS is working with AT&T to resolve a persistent issue that has left our suburban member libraries without Internet access or library system software available in house. The public libraries of the following municipalities are impacted at present (8/16/21): Brown Deer, Cudahy, Franklin, Greendale, Greenfield, Hales Corners, North Shore, Oak Creek, Shorewood, South Milwaukee, St. Francis, Wauwatosa, West Allis and Whitefish Bay.
Please note that resources such as CountyCat, CountyCat Mobile app, OverDrive, Transparent Languages, Gale Courses, Hoopla, etc. are working and available from outside the libraries mentioned above and for all other member libraries. Access to these resources is available for any/all new online patron registrations or ‘e-cards.’
MCFLS will report out as soon as the Internet connection is back up. We greatly apologize for this inconvenience.
